IT Performance Improvement

Transforming IT

IT performance improvement is driven by its outcome - IT providing valuable and valued services to its clients.

We believe this is best achieved by transforming IT, both in mindset and approach, by
conducting IT as a business ie according to sound and proven business practices.

The critical starting point is the C.I.O's / I.T. Director's Vision, from which the blueprint, strategies and plans for the transformation are developed.

Our approach uses proven change management techniques
such as:

  • Transformational Flow eg Defining a Programme, Delivering Capability, Realising the Benefits
  • Principles eg Value, Benefits, Alignment, Capability, Learning
  • Themes eg Quality, Vision, Benefits Realisation, Blueprint, Risk, Engagement

The transformation process is tailored to your situation, and is designed around managed, step change improvements to achieve "quick wins".

Innovative but lean and pragmatic use of various aspects of change management practices such the OGC's Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) will be used to provide recognised structure to our approach.

A
Change Agenda is developed that specifies and communicates the reason for change, objectives, targets, how the change is to be achieved and timeframes.

Communication and the involvement of I.T. staff are central to successful change, and I.T. staff will actively participate in discussions regarding the design of the change and its implementation

Scorecards are a key component for successful transformation and I.T. staff will be expected to partipate in developing meaningful and realistic CSF's, KPI's and KRI's and in reviewing those developed by others. It is recommended that the opportunity be taken to develop personal scorecards for I.T. staff.

I.T. Transformation is run as a formal project, with Plans being developed against the Change Agenda and Blueprint.
